A Facebook Page

Seven steps, if you are testing a Page instead.

1. 15

   Press Connect Facebook Page

   Open dashboard.yalladm.com and sign in as in step 2. Nothing connected yet? Press Connect Facebook Page. Already connected Instagram too? Open Settings and press Connect Facebook Page there instead.

   It worked if

   you land on a page called Connect a Facebook Page.

2. 16

   Allow YallaDM on Facebook

   Press Continue to Facebook. Facebook opens: log in as yourself, not as the Page. Pick your business portfolio (Meta's word for the group your Page sits under), tick the Page you want the bot to answer for, and allow every permission it asks for.

   It worked if

   a page says Your Page is connected. Press Back to the dashboard.

3. 17

   Start a new automation for your Page

   Press Create your first automation. Already have Instagram connected too? Press New automation and pick your Page from the two boxes.

   It worked if

   Untitled automation opens, with the same four numbered steps as Instagram. Step 3, They will get, has no switches on a Page: Facebook cannot check a follow, so the guide is the first message they get.

4. 18

   Pick your post, word and link

   Under When someone comments on, tick the post you want to test with. Under And this comment has, type your word in Words. Under And then, paste your link into Link. With or without https:// in front, either works.

   A Page's automation has no Attach my next post tick, so pick a post that is already published.

5. 19

   Go live

   Press Go live at the bottom.

   It worked if

   it says It is live. at the top.

   If it did not

   If people already commented your word in the last 7 days, YallaDM asks first, because going live answers the comments that are already there: a box opens over the screen and says how many will get your DM, starting within the hour. Press Go live to answer them too, or Not yet and pick a different word.

6. 20

   Comment as yourself, not as the Page

   In the Facebook app, open the post and comment your word, as yourself, not as the Page.

   For now, the DM may only reach people Aly has added to the app, so if yours does not arrive, tell Aly at azab@yalladm.com.

7. 21

   Look in Messenger

   Within seconds, a reply appears under your comment. Open Messenger on the account you commented from and look in message requests.

   The guide lands in Messenger, in message requests, not the main inbox. Facebook has no follow check, so this is the one message you get: the link comes straight away, as text and as a button, with nothing to tap first.
