Part 2 of 4

Your first automation

Six steps, all in your dashboard.

  1. 5

    Start a new automation

On Home, press Create your first automation.

To rename the automation, click its name at the top. Only you see the name.

    It worked if

a page called Untitled automation opens, with four numbered steps and a preview of the messages people will get. On a phone the preview is under the form.

  2. 6

    Pick your post

Under When someone comments on, tick the post. Your three newest are shown. For an older one, press Show your other posts (the button says how many), tick it there, then press Done.

No post yet? Tick Attach my next post, and the next post you publish joins the automation within the hour.

  3. 7

    Choose the word people comment

Under And this comment has, type your word in Words, for example the word your caption asks people to comment. Separate more than one with commas.

YallaDM finds the word anywhere in a comment, and capitals do not matter. Pick one people will not write by accident.

  4. 8

    Add your link

Under And then, paste your link into Link. With or without https:// in front, either works.

  5. 9

    Go live

Leave They will get and Public reply as they are for now. Every message is already written, and the preview shows them. Press Go live at the bottom.

Not ready yet? Press Save as draft instead, and open it again from Automations when you are.

  6. 10

    Check what it says

Read the box at the top of the page.

    It worked if

it says It is live. at the top, with the label Live by the name.

    If it did not

If people already commented your word in the last 7 days, YallaDM asks first: a box opens over the screen and says how many comments will get your DM, starting within the hour. Press Go live to answer them too, or Not yet and pick a different word.

If it says not live instead, the page shows what to fix. It is saved as a draft, so nothing you typed is lost. Fix it and press Go live again.
