Part 3 of 4

Watch it work

Four steps, from a second account.

  1. 11

    Comment from your other account

In the Instagram app, switch to your second account, open the post, and write a new comment with your word in it.

It has to be a different Instagram account from the one you connected, because YallaDM never answers your own comments. And it has to be a new comment, not a reply to someone else's.

  2. 12

    Look in message requests

Within seconds, a reply appears under your comment. Now, on the second account, open your DMs and look in message requests.

The DM lands in message requests, not the main inbox. Instagram puts a message from an account you have never written to there, even if you follow it. Most people never open that folder, which is why every public reply tells them to look.

    It worked if

there is a reply under your comment. The public reply only goes out after the DM has, so if you can see the reply, the DM is there.

  3. 13

    Tap the button

The first message says it is automated, and has a button under it. Tap it.

Buttons only show in the Instagram app on a phone. If your second account follows you, your link arrives straight away. If it does not, YallaDM asks it to follow, up to three times, and then sends the link anyway. The link comes as text on its own line and on a button.

  4. 14

    Check your dashboard

Back on your dashboard, open Home.

    It worked if

your test is counted under Comments matched, DMs sent and Guides delivered. Activity shows the post it came in on, and what that post has taken. That is your first automation, live and working.

If no DM arrives

Check each of these.

Each comment gets one DM at most. A second test from the same account behaves differently on purpose: within 10 minutes of the first DM, a new comment gets a public reply and no new DM, and within a day of tapping the button, a new comment gets your link straight away. To run the test again from the start, use another account, or wait a day.
